Congressman Jim Oberstar is presenting a whole new ballgame in transportation, nationwide. He is beginning in Minnesota and building consensus on his plan to "rebuild the economy, revitalize metropolitan and rural mobility, and address a chronic maintenance backlog", all very worthy objectives.~~ The general overhaul of transportation and transit is essential as this is the driving force of the economy in all respects, from producing energy saving vehicles, to building better roads, to cheap alternatives to fossil fuels. That´s all "transportation", right?
